Our Story
How Island Ties Came to Be
Island Ties is a Hawaii company that created the concept of a designer luggage tie. It started
with a luggage strap to herald the unique beauty of Hawaii's culture. Visitors to the Aloha state are often greeted with a flower lei. Why not create a 'lei for your luggage'®? We began with intricate floral lei designs. It took over two years to discover a dye process that properly transferred the vibrant colors and elaborate details onto the fabric. Then we developed a unique rip-style, Velcro type latch that fastens on both sides for long lasting strength and durability. This is an 'Island Ties' original. Now we've added designs that extend beyond our island shores but we'll always be 'Island Ties' because Aloha is easy to recognize!
